The Mechanical Engineer II plays a key role in supporting design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems for building and infrastructure projects. The role involves intermediate‑level engineering tasks under moderate supervision, contributing to HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system designs. Responsibilities include preparing construction documents, performing load calculations, selecting equipment, ensuring code compliance, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines to deliver high‑quality, efficient, and cost‑effective designs. Pay:

$92,800 – $113,200 per year.

What You Will Do

Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing, and ductwork and piping layout design

Assist in the design of hydronic systems, perform basic flow and pressure calculations, and prepare equipment schedules

Support design of plumbing and fire protection systems, including layout development and coordination with other disciplines

Develop drawings and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD under the guidance of senior engineers

Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings with architectural, structural, electrical, and civil teams

Conduct site visits to support data collection, field verification, and construction administration activities

Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and cost estimates for review

Ensure all work adheres to applicable codes, standards, and project requirements

Assist in reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs during the construction phase

Continuously develop technical skills through training, mentorship, and hands‑on project experience

Who You Are

Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design fundamentals

Familiarity with mechanical codes and standards such as ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, and NFPA

Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for MEP modeling and documentation

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail

Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordination and documentation

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Eagerness to learn advanced design methods and project delivery practices

Your Background

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program

3‑5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in building systems or related industries

Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain within one year

Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and load calculation software desired
