As a CBRE Operations Engineering Manager, you will manage a team responsible for implementing, coordinating, and managing all mechanical and electrical operations for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings. This role is for a health, nutrition and beauty sector company and requires you to be local to New Jersey. Your team will provide support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
Responsibilities
Provide formal supervision to employees, monitor training and development, conduct performance evaluations, and oversee recruiting and hiring.
Coordinate and manage the team’s daily activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, cross‑train staff, set and track deadlines, and mentor as needed.
Assist the team with operations and maintenance issues.
Direct contractors, subcontractors, and engineers on all maintenance aspects.
Supervise the daily operation of facility controls and asset management systems.
Integrate customer engineering, maintenance standards, and requirements into the facility maintenance program and manage configuration changes.
Support preparation of annual operating budgets and evaluate, forecast, and manage operations and maintenance costs for a specific location.
Schedule maintenance activities to align with customer operational requirements.
Support operational analysis of all engineering performance metrics (KPIs).
Drive continuous improvement and innovation, supporting peer reviews, site assessments, and technical competence evaluations.
Collaborate with clients for reconfiguration, changes, and operational requirements.
Lead by example, model CBRE RISE values, and influence stakeholders to reach consensus.
Apply knowledge of your field and its integration with other domains to achieve team and departmental objectives.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day‑to‑day and moderately complex issues that may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.
What You’ll Need
Preferred a bachelor’s degree with 3‑5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Membership in an engineering‑related professional body such as CIBSE or IEE is preferred.
Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, performance measurement, appraisal, and reward preferred.
Ability to convey performance expectations, handle complex situations, and guide the exchange of sensitive information.
Leadership skills to empower the team and impact quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Excellent client relationship skills.
In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive attitude.

Salary Range The minimum salary for this Engineering Operations Manager position is $145,000 and the maximum is $170,000. Compensation will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
