Job Description We are looking for an OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE to join our REXEL team in Columbus, OH!
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for the sales and marketing efforts with the objective of increasing profitable sales by creating, building, and maintaining high‑quality relationships with new and existing customers. Utilize company digital tools and products and services to connect with consumers, develop creative solutions, generate sales volume, and provide the highest level of customer service.
Responsibilities
Sell, market, promote, and demonstrate products. Effectively communicate the features and benefits of our product offering.
Increase business by generating sales to new customers and by selling additional products to existing customers.
Collaborate with leadership, team members, and suppliers to plan, track, and implement sales strategies and develop new markets.
Assist customers with product selection and application using knowledge of internal specialists and supplier representatives.
Establish and maintain customer relationships.
Evaluate customer operations to identify objectives, requirements, and preferences, and present tailored solutions.
Collaborate with customers and team members for product quotations and provide ongoing communication throughout the purchasing lifecycle.
Work with management, credit, and customers to resolve payment issues promptly.
Gather and report market information regarding competitors, pricing, products, and current and future trends.
Participate in professional development activities to improve selling skills and maintain technical knowledge.
Maintain accurate and timely records including sales call schedules and expense reports.
Coordinate sales calls with vendors to introduce and demonstrate products, identify customer needs, and promote solutions.
Utilize digital tools, customer solutions, and services to gain a competitive advantage.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
3+ years of sales or electrical industry experience.
Valid Driver’s License.
High School diploma or GED (required).
Positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers.
Customer‑oriented with excellent communication, presentation, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and influence skills.
Product and application knowledge essential.
Highly self‑motivated.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and relevant ERP/CRM systems.
Physical Demands
Stationary: 21%–50% of time.
Walking: Constantly, at least 51% of time.
Computer use: Constantly, at least 51% of time.
Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl: Occasionally, up to 20% of time.
