Position Overview We are seeking a well‑rounded and hands‑on

Senior Accountant

to support our accounting function in a mid‑sized, project‑based environment. This role will participate in monthly close, oversee high‑volume accounts payable with offshore support, and work closely with leadership on construction‑specific financial practices such as job costing and work‑in‑progress (WIP) analysis.

The ideal candidate enjoys a mix of AP, GL, and project accounting; brings strong accounting fundamentals; and is eager to contribute to process improvement as the company continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities

Support the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes (journal entries, accruals, reconciliations).

Coordinate high‑volume accounts payable operations (≈7,000 invoices monthly) leveraging both domestic and offshore resources; contribute to AP automation initiatives (including AI/RPA tools).

Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) inclusive of contract and project‑related adjustments.

Assist with project accounting: job costing, WIP analysis, and revenue recognition.

Monitor key financial metrics, variances, and project profitability to support business decisions.

Support cash flow forecasting, funding needs, and liquidity management.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

Participate in annual audit preparation, schedules, and responses to auditor inquiries.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement

Partner with Operations and Project Managers to ensure accurate project financials and timely reporting.

Support standardization of workflows, documentation, and reporting across accounting functions.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).

3+ years of progressive accounting experience; construction or project‑based industry experience strongly preferred.

Understanding of job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, and construction accounting concepts.

Strong working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit fundamentals.

Proficiency in Sage Intacct (or similar ERP) and intermediate Excel (Pivot Tables, IF statements, XLOOKUP).

Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
