This senior‑level role focuses on the MDE Grants Management System (NexSys), a platform handling over 2 billion dollars across 100+ grant applications. The analyst will lead requirement gathering, manage project tasks, and serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Facilitate meetings between the technical team and business client
Gather requirements and lead independent requirement sessions
Maintain backlog of work items in Azure DevOps
Operate in an Agile/Waterfall hybrid environment, managing change requests and testing needs
Manage project tasks, timelines, and communication between product owner and development team
Track sprints and ticket progress in Azure DevOps
Ensure adherence to department change‑management policies
Act as liaison with State of Michigan auditors
Maintain project documentation on SharePoint
Provide management with project status reports and resource demand projections
Collaborate with teams to continuously improve processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years experience gathering and documenting business requirements
5+ years experience supporting a software development project as a business analyst
5+ years of leadership in meetings, training, and communication with diverse audiences
3+ years proficiency with MS Office
2+ years experience as liaison between development team and project manager or business client
1+ year experience with Azure DevOps, creating user stories and queries
Nice to Have
1+ year experience with federal, state, or local grant management systems
6+ months experience with Power Platform services (Power BI, Power Automate)
