Responsibilities
Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics, such as leaves and compensation, and resolve any issues that may arise
Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
Undertake tasks around performance management
Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
Organize quarterly and annual employee performance reviews
Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
Ensure compliance with labor regulations
Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits, and organizing team building activities
Qualifications
Commitment to unbiased and equitable hiring, with a focus on outreach to historically marginalized communities
Additional HR training will be a plus
Bachelor's/BA in Business administration or relevant field
Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
Aptitude in problem solving
Excellent communication and people skills
Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. PeopleSoft) will be a plus
Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
Proven experience as an HR Generalist
Job Highlights
6-12 month contract to hire
36 hours a week, working 4, 9 hour days/week, can select day off
Must Have
Experience with leave management, employee relations, training and development, and HR policy creation and implementation
Strong understanding of California labor laws, employment compliance and HR Best Practices
Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
5+ years of HR experience with at least 3 at the generalist level. Bachelor's degree preferred
Compensation $38 - $40 /hour Pay Rate
