Base pay: $60.00/hr – $65.00/hr
Description The System Administrator is responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining the organization's enterprise systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security. This role provides leadership across virtualization, systems, and storage management, supporting mission‑critical workloads and driving modernization through automation, observability, and standardization. The System Administrator serves as a technical escalation point, mentors junior team members, and ensures adherence to corporate cybersecurity and compliance standards.

Essential Functions
Design, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments.
Administer Windows Server and Linux systems, including patching, configuration, and security hardening.
Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
Implement and maintain Veeam Backup & Replication.
Support enterprise SAN/NAS storage systems.
Configure firewalls, VPNs, and network appliances.
Work with Cybersecurity team on patching, endpoint protection, and DMARC/SPF/DKIM compliance.
Monitor system and network performance and perform capacity planning.
Maintain system hardening, access control, and audit compliance.
Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible).
Implement monitoring and observability tools.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for incidents.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for automation and resilience.
Serve as Tier‑3 escalation for complex issues.
Collaborate with IT leadership on strategy, capacity planning, modernization.
Mentor junior administrators and maintain documentation.
Participate in on‑call rotation and after‑hours maintenance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Expert Level experience.
Job Type & Location Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. Fully onsite.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 – $65.00/hr.
