Job Details We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Commercial Litigation Paralegal to manage complex cases from inception through trial and appeal. The ideal candidate is a proactive self‑starter with a deep understanding of federal and state court procedures, e‑discovery, and advanced litigation technology.
Key Responsibilities Litigation & Case Management
Manage the full litigation lifecycle, from initial filing through trial preparation and post‑trial appeals.
Maintain accurate case calendars, including court, discovery, and hearing deadlines.
Execute all federal and state court filings, ensuring strict adherence to procedural requirements.
Draft routine court documents, including motions for extension of time, notices of appearance, motions for default, and subpoenas.
Discovery & Document Support
Manage and organize high‑volume hard copy and electronic case documents, including email, file organization, and hard copy binder preparation.
Assist with the entire document production process, including redacting, copying, and Bates stamping.
Organize, analyze, and index complex documents and trial exhibits.
Conduct legal research using Lexis and Westlaw; perform comprehensive cite‑checking, Bluebooking, and Shepardizing of briefs and legal memoranda.
Trial Preparation & Courtroom Support
Assist attorneys with all aspects of deposition preparation.
Create and maintain deposition designation and trial exhibit databases.
Provide direct courtroom support, including technology setup, connection configurations, and trial presentation (e.g., OnCue).
Professional & Administrative Duties
Communicate professionally and effectively with all internal staff, attorneys, and external clients.
Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple high‑priority projects with constantly shifting deadlines.
Travel locally and nationwide as required for depositions and trial support.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of dedicated litigation paralegal experience.
Familiarity with complex, high‑stakes commercial litigation.
Demonstrated experience with electronic discovery and document analysis in commercial cases.
Ability to apply knowledge of the litigation process from pretrial to post‑trial.
Superior interpersonal skills and a strong service orientation for effective communication with all parties.
Exceptional organizational, problem‑solving, and proofreading skills.
Discretion in handling all confidential and sensitive information.
Willingness to work moderate to heavy overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on trial experience (in‑courtroom support).
Bachelor's degree with an ABA‑approved paralegal certification, or an Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies.
