Bressler, Amery & Ross, a dynamic and rapidly growing law firm with a national practice, seeks a Senior Associate/Counsel in its Florham Park, NJ office. The Senior Associate/Counsel will assist and/or manage a caseload, subject to principal supervision, and represent clients in litigation, alternate dispute resolution, and drafting and negotiation of agreements. Matters include sophisticated family law and general commercial litigation.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct discovery, hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other similar proceedings.
Work closely with principals to develop and revise legal strategy.
Negotiate and draft premarital, marital, and commercial settlement agreements.
Provide guidance to clients on legal opinions, rights, and obligations.
Stay current with changes in the law and understand disciplinary approaches to cases.
Demonstrate outstanding research, writing, and analytical skills.
Perform administrative functions related to the practice of law.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
Admission to the NJ Bar (co‑admission to NY Bar required).
Minimum 5 years of litigation attorney experience.
Knowledge of business and family law and specific client operations.
Member in good standing of the state bar(s).
Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
Required Experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient legal research.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with peers and principals.
Salary: $165K - $195K. Salary range does not guarantee, obligate, or set expectations of an applicant’s salary in the event of hire. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and skill set.
