Job Description
Design and implement high-performance, secure, and scalable network solutions that meet business requirements.
Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and optimizations to support growth and technological advancements.
Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Monitor, manage, and maintain the network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Implement and manage network monitoring tools and systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Perform regular network maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and configuration changes.
Diagnose and resolve complex network issues related to connectivity, performance, and security.
Provide third-tier support for network-related incidents, collaborating with other IT teams as needed.
Analyze network traffic and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and security risks.
Implement and maintain robust network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk management activities.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational security policies.
Lead or participate in network-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that support new applications, services, and technologies.
Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies, trends, and best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve network performance, security, and reliability.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
Experience
5-10+ years of experience in network engineering, specializing in complex, large-scale networks across enterprise, data center, and cloud environments.
Proven expertise in the full lifecycle (design, implementation, and troubleshooting) of cutting‑edge network solutions, including:
SD‑WAN: Deep hands‑on experience with Cisco Viptela SDWAN and Cisco Meraki platforms for intelligent, high‑availability branch connectivity.
Network Access Control (NAC): Implementing and administering network security policies and posture checking using Cisco ISE.
Next‑Generation Firewalls: Extensive configuration and management of Palo Alto Firewalls and Cisco ASA for perimeter defense, VPN services, and advanced threat prevention.
Wireless Networking: Designing and supporting dual‑vendor enterprise wireless solutions with both Cisco Wireless and Aruba Wireless controllers and access points.
Core Infrastructure: Mastery of traditional and modern Cisco Routers and Switches (Catalyst and Nexus) for robust LAN/WAN and data center switching.
In‑depth knowledge of advanced networking and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) to ensure high performance and scalability.
Strong understanding of network security principles, including firewall best practices, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and Zero Trust architecture concepts like Zscaler.
Proficiency in network monitoring, packet analysis, and management tools (e.g., Logic Monitor, Wireshark) to ensure operational excellence and proactive issue resolution.
Experience with cloud networking services in public cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to lead and build strong relationships and teams, driving projects from concept to completion while effectively managing multiple priorities.
Communication: Strong communication skills and a proven ability to explain complex technical concepts and project updates to non‑technical stakeholders and senior management.
Certifications: CCNP, CCIE, or other relevant network certifications are preferred.
