Role Summary The VP, Investment Consultant – RIA/Bank Trust/Family Office Channel will generate new relationships and service existing RIA/Bank Trust/Family Office firms that typically manage $750 million or more in assets. The role involves developing and executing a territory business plan, managing client relationships, and collaborating with the Calamos team to deliver tailored investment solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
Sales and Relationship Building:
Articulate the quantitative and qualitative attributes of Calamos Investment solutions to clients, prospects, and advisors.
Build strong relationships in the territory and collaborate with the Calamos team.
Continuously improve and enhance sales skills.
Engage in insightful investment discussions that build client trust.
Conduct analysis to review opportunities within client asset allocation and determine how Calamos solutions fit recommended allocations.
Business Planning:
Develop and execute a business plan for the RIA/Bank Trust/Family Office Central territory that links Calamos goals to team objectives.
Evaluate the business plan against measures developed with the Director of the RIA Channel.
Territory Management:
Organize and cover the assigned territory efficiently, focusing on high‑potential existing and prospective clients.
Complete travel and expense reports and other necessary paperwork on a weekly basis.
Enter activity data into the CRM database regularly and update other information as required.
Handle related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
10+ years of experience in the financial services industry, including four or more years of intermediary sales/external wholesaling experience focused on the RIA/Bank Trust/Family Office channel.
Experience selling credit interval funds and ETFs preferred.
Series 7 and 63 licenses required; CFA, CAIA, or CIMA preferred.
Proven track record of sales success and relationships in the RIA/Bank Trust/Family Office channel.
Extensive travel required within the region.
Demonstrated success in meeting sales objectives with firms managing $750 million or more in assets.
Strong combination of sales and analytical skills with an energetic, engaging style.
Ability to work independently and communicate clearly and concisely.
PC skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and sales database applications.
Compensation Disclosure The base salary range is $100,000–$150,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus. This estimate reflects the role’s location, skill set, and experience.
