The Dean of Equity and Student Support reports to the Vice President of Student Services and is responsible for the administration of the division, which includes CalWORKS, Disability Resource Center, EOPS/CARE, Guardian Scholars Program, Student Equity Plan, SparkPoint Center, TRiO Student Support Services, and the overall development, implementation, and evaluation of institutional climate and diversity initiatives at the college. The Dean serves as the content expert on institutional cultural fluency, collaborating with the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning to provide professional development for staff, faculty, and administration. Responsibilities also include planning, organizing, implementing, budgeting, managing, and evaluating student support programs; conducting student outcomes assessment and accountability; ensuring accreditation compliance; overseeing technology planning and One Stop Services; and serving as Campus Title IX Coordinator and strategic leader for learning communities.
Duties And Responsibilities
Provide leadership, management, and development of the college's institutional initiatives that promote equity and cultural fluency.
Provide leadership, management, and development for the division's day, evening, and weekend programs, the division office, and other student support services.
Plan, implement, conduct, and evaluate competency and needs assessments of students.
Develop, implement, conduct, and evaluate methods to monitor student progress and provide needed support services.
Direct the development and implementation of Counseling Division curriculum and class schedules in collaboration with the Dean of Counseling/Advising.
Oversee hiring of faculty and classified staff; recommend personnel actions to the Vice President; direct and supervise faculty and staff and participate in their evaluation.
Organize and collaborate on culturally relevant services such as outreach, orientation, and student engagement.
Provide administrative leadership in a college culture that values consultation and collaboration.
Collaborate with student services and instructional staff to provide and enhance academic advising following a student-centered model.
Provide administrative oversight of the Student Equity Plan and participate in research and evaluation of its effectiveness.
Ensure course and program articulations are current.
Provide timely reporting to college, district, federal, and state departments.
Facilitate grant applications and manage existing grants.
Serve actively on the College administrative team to address college-wide issues, concerns, and planning.
Organize and lead the annual division planning and budgeting process, including externally-funded initiatives.
Advocate for innovative technology systems aligned with Student Services and Instruction goals.
Work with students, faculty, and staff to resolve problems and conflicts constructively.
Implement district rules, California Education Code, Title 5, and collective bargaining agreements as required.
Lead staff and faculty development, including regular meetings and retreats.
Collaborate with Student Services staff and VPs to integrate student and instructional services.
Serve on college and district committees and perform other duties assigned by the Vice President.
Act as Campus Title IX Coordinator.
Lead and assess strategy for Learning Communities.
Lead college-wide implementation and assessment of the Student Equity and Achievement Plan (SEAP).

Job Requirements
Master's degree or higher, preferably in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field (or equivalent experience).
One year of formal training or leadership experience relevant to the administrative assignment.
Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse student, faculty, and staff backgrounds.
