Please be aware that we are acting as a recruitment partner for one of our clients in this search.* About the Role Were partnering with a leading telecommunications company seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Splicing Trainer to join their in-house training team. 5 days a week in office and up to 25% travel. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned fiber splicer or technician who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and sharing real-world field expertise. Youll play a key role in developing the next generation of fiber optic technicians by delivering hands-on training in splicing, testing, and fiber installationall aligned with current telecom industry standards. What Youll Do Lead classroom and lab-based fiber optic splicing and testing sessions. Teach fusion, ribbon, and single-fiber splicing techniques using leading tools (Fujikura, Sumitomo, etc.). Demonstrate proper use of OTDRs, cleavers, power meters, and test equipment. Train students in fiber cable preparation, tray setup, and enclosure installation. Reinforce safety protocols and OSHA-compliant best practices. Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback. Maintain, set up, and troubleshoot training lab equipment. Assist with occasional field support or emergency response when needed. Collaborate with team members to update curriculum and training materials to reflect evolving technologies. What You Bring 8+ years of fiber optic splicing and testing experience (fusion and mechanical). Skilled with fusion splicers (Fujikura, Sumitomo, or equivalent). Experience with high-count ribbon and single-fiber cables. Passion for mentoring, coaching, and knowledge sharing. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to teach in classroom, lab, and field environments. Certifications such as FOA CFOT, ETA Fiber Optics Installer, or BICSI are a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
