The Advanced Quality Engineer (AQE) is responsible for ensuring product and process quality from development through production of Automation and Gauge development. This role plays a key part in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), leading quality initiatives, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to meet customer and regulatory requirements. The AQE leads and supports lessons learned activities, PPAP documentation, continuous improvement activities, root cause analysis, and quality system enhancements throughout the product launch.
Responsibilities
APQP & PPAP:
Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
Prepare and submit Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation in accordance with customer requirements.
Design & Process FMEA:
Support and update Design FMEAs and Process FMEAs.
Drive risk mitigation and failure prevention strategies.
Process Capability & Statistical Analysis:
Perform Gage R&R, SPC, Cp, Cpk, Pp, and Ppk analysis.
Monitor and improve process capability and stability.
Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action:
Lead and manage issue tracking and resolution during new product trials.
Work with cross functional team in resolving issues
Continuous Improvement:
Lead and participate in Lean Six Sigma projects.
Quality Systems & Compliance:
Lead and maintain core documentation for the program development team.
Support internal and external audits
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in a regulated or high‑volume manufacturing environment.
Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or similar.
Proficient in FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, and SPC.
Proficient in GD&T.
Strong knowledge of root cause analysis tools (5‑Why, Fishbone, etc.).
Experience with quality management systems and standards.
Familiarity with Minitab, JMP, or other statistical software.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Effective communicator with cross‑functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
