Honeywell International Inc.
About the role
Honeywell is launching the development of a new family of gas turbine engines that will help shape the future of the aerospace industry. The new family will be lighter, quieter, and more powerful while being 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel capable. We are hiring engineers in the areas of design, analysis, controls, test, and project management to accomplish this challenging new feat. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with Gas Turbine experience to join our Turbine team. The scope of the work will include new product design, analysis, lifing and testing support of gas turbine components for new designs, redesigns and field‑related issue resolution. This position is located at our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico site and offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing a flexible balance between in‑office and remote work after an initial 90‑day period. Key Responsibilities
Perform stress analysis and lifing for low and high cycle fatigue, creep, and burst on turbine components; mentor others to perform similar analyses. Conduct mechanical design and analysis on turbine components including blades, disks, seals, plates and vanes. Implement 2D and 3D finite element modeling techniques using analytical tools such as NX and ANSYS, and execute complex axial turbine‑related design and analysis efforts with an integrated team of engineers. Effectively support complex projects involving multiple organizations, internal and external customers, to successfully complete all assignments. Support engine tests and functional tests for engine certification or RCCA efforts. Support continuous process improvement projects within the organization. Communicate technical results to internal and external customers. Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Equivalent of 5 years or more of experience in the Gas Turbine Industry. Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of ANSYS for stress analysis, including the creation of finite element models from CAD solid models and skill in using CAD software. Crack growth analysis and probabilistic lifing as applied to turbine component design. Knowledge of MATLAB and Python programming. Proficiency in using NX, APDL, MATLAB, DARWIN. Strong teamwork skills; ability to work in a self‑directed, cross‑functional team environment. Strong written and oral communication skills. Travel
