We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to support our dynamic publishing and marketing operations that promote port shopping stores aboard major cruise lines. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing key accounting functions, and supporting strategic financial planning across departments
What you’ll be doing: ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and maintain the general ledger, including preparation and posting of monthly journal entries
Manage bi-weekly commission calculations and ensure timely disbursements
Maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger and post monthly depreciation entries
Prepare monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts and bank accounts (disbursement, concentration, payroll funding)
Monitor daily bank activity and update internal cash flow worksheets
Liaise with the Treasury team to resolve outstanding banking issues
Manage inter-company settlements, account clearing, and related journal entries
Create and maintain the Media Revenue Master File and input contract data into Dynamics Great Plains
Maintain and update the Vendor Master File in Dynamics Great Plains
What we’re looking for: QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
BA, BBA in Accounting or Finance related field
Minimum (2-3) years of experience with emphasis on balance sheet account analysis and bank reconciliation
Experience in retail environment highly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and working knowledge of Microsoft Navision and Dynamics Great Plains a plus
Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Travel Requirements:
Less than 10% of time (Periodic travel to local ships)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Some flexibility in hours is permitted, employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Physical Demands: Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.
