Overview:

Join our dynamic team at MasTec Civil as a Heavy Equipment Loader Operator! We are seeking skilled Operators for heavy construction projects across various locations. In this role, you will engage in a variety of tasks and collaborate closely with your team to ensure project success.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating heavy construction equipment, including but not limited to loaders, backhoes, excavators, and bulldozers. You will be responsible for performing pre-start and post-start inspections, daily safety checks, and minor equipment repairs. A strong focus on safety and mechanical knowledge is essential for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate proficiency in operating heavy equipment with responsibility and care.
• Conduct daily safety and operational inspections and report any deficiencies.
• Ensure regular maintenance is performed according to equipment manuals.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of equipment characteristics and operational capabilities.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials, including TBW construction concrete barriers.
• Maintain situational awareness of site activities for safety.
• Effectively load and balance materials while spreading and recovering spoil.
• Understand industry terminology related to excavation and grading.
• Ensure utility locations are clear and understood prior to excavation.
• Follow safety protocols, including securing equipment when not in use.
• Collaborate with the team to support various project needs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Loader or Backhoe Operator, or 3-5 years for other heavy equipment.
• Relevant certifications and documentation required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
