POSITION SUMMARY:
The Receptionist will be responsible for day-to-day activities that are required of the front desk. The receptionist serves as the initial point of contact for the public whether via telephone or personal contact. The receptionist also serves as the central point of contact for tribal members. The Receptionist will provide clerical support to the Administrative staff and tribal members when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities: Central telephone answering, routing and messages for all incoming Tribal calls. Log and route incoming and outgoing mail. Greet and direct Tribal members, Tribal guests and the public. Set up and confirm appointments and meetings. Provide clerical support for various Tribal committees and activities when needed. Provide general clerical support for administrative staff when needed. Receive purchases, log-in, match with corresponding purchase order, and notify ordering entity. Receive and receipt payments from tribal members, employees, and the public. Download postage via telephone from Pitney Bowes for postage machine. Arrange transportation for employees, committees, and Tribal Council members when requested. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Qualifications:
Possess High School diploma or GED Professionalism in dealing with the public to promote good community relations and encourage participation in program services. Capacity to use oral and written language effectively. Ability to work independently, flexibly and responsibly. Type 45-55 words per minute. Must possess a valid California drivers license and comply with the requirements of the Tribes driving policy and insurance requirements. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and operation of general office machines (or willing to attend training). Two years of clerical experience in a multi-function position.

Physical Requirements :
This position is deemed a Level 1 and requires walking, standing, and sitting for prolonged periods of time; climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 20 lbs.; raising objects overhead, manual dexterity for operation of computer, phones and small office machines; hearing, talking, good verbal and written communication skills; repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
Indian Preference:
Preference in filling vacancies shall be given first to qualified Tuolumne Me-Wuk Community Council Members and then to enrolled Native Americans of any federally recognized tribe.
