PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Leads the planning, execution, and delivery of all district technology projects within the ISA department. Ensures alignment with strategic goals and educational outcomes, utilizing industry-standard project management methodologies and tools. Fosters cross-functional collaboration, manages resource allocation, drives transparency through documentation and Kanban-based visual boards, and strengthens budget and vendor oversight. Experience within a school environment is essential to navigate the unique demands of academic calendars, student data systems, and instructional technology timelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Degree(s): Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field Professional experience: 5+ years of project management experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or PMO role Experience in the education industry preferred with demonstrated success managing technology projects within instructional and operational environments Certifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficiency in project tracking tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Trello, Asana, or MS Project Strong understanding of project management frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, PMI, PRINCE2) Thorough understanding of student information systems (SIS), learning management systems (LMS), and educational compliance standards (FERPA, COPPA, etc.) Proven successful track record in implementing and maintaining Kanban boards and collaborative workflows Possess a strong understanding of appropriate leading-edge technologies. Must be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication (both oral and written), facilitation, and documentation skills. Ability to implement policy, procedures, and interpret data. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Annual Contract: 250 days
SALARY:
$103,395 (TA-9)
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop, maintain, and enforce PMO standards, templates, and processes for project intake, planning, tracking, execution, and closeout Lead complex, cross-functional technology initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget by managing expenditure approval, tracking invoices and payments Implement and monitor Kanban boards and other visual management tools to support workflow transparency and status communication Direct the full project lifecycle: scope definition, charter creation, timeline development, task tracking, risk assessment, change control, and post-project evaluation Collaborate with district leadership to prioritize and align technology projects with academic and operational strategic plans Support portfolio planning by maintaining a districtwide view of current and upcoming initiatives Conduct regular reviews to ensure project goals remain aligned with district priorities and instructional needs Ensure all projects have accurate and up-to-date documentation including project charters, stakeholder communications, meeting notes, and risk logs Generate status reports, dashboards, and analytics for executive and campus leadership Maintain a centralized documentation repository for project artifacts and knowledge sharing Coordinate with software developers, system administrators, curriculum staff, and campus representatives to meet project milestones Serve as liaison between ISA and district stakeholders Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings and project briefings Partner with Procurement and Finance departments to manage vendor relationships, contract negotiation, and service-level agreements Establish performance metrics for project execution, department efficiency, and resource utilization Drive process improvement through retrospectives, stakeholder feedback, and lessons learned Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability in technology project delivery Provides outstanding customer service. Complies with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and local board policy. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage and motivate the business teams with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress.
