Job Summary:
The Filler Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring automated filling equipment used to package beverages into bottles or cans in a safe, efficient, and sanitary manner. This role ensures the product is filled within specified quality and safety standards and supports minimal waste and downtime. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, quality-focused, and experienced in a fast-paced food or beverage production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor filling machines for consistent, accurate product fills. Perform startup, changeover, and shutdown procedures per SOPs. Ensure containers are filled to proper levels with correct labels and closures. Monitor for leaks, jams, or misfills and correct in real time. Maintain clean, sanitary work area and equipment before, during, and after shifts. Document and report equipment or process deviations and safety issues. Conduct daily equipment checks and basic preventive maintenance. Communicate mechanical issues to maintenance team for timely resolution. Work to minimize downtime, waste, and overfill while maintaining throughput. Record production data including lot numbers, fill weights, and inspection results. Coordinate with batching, packaging, and quality teams to ensure line continuity. Participate in shift meetings and provide operational updates to supervisors. Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, food safety, and quality standards, including GMPs, PPE requirements, and hazard reporting Perform all other duties or tasks as assigned by management to support departmental or company objectives. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Fill Accuracy : Minimal under/overfill incidents Line Efficiency : Uptime and throughput vs. targets Changeover/CIP Time : Speed and accuracy of machine transitions Safety Compliance : Zero incidents and 100% policy adherence Defect Rate : Visual and functional non-conformance per unit Sanitation Compliance : Results of sanitation inspections Requirements
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required 1-3 years experience in filling, bottling, or packaging operations (preferred in beverage or food) Skills & Competencies:
Strong mechanical aptitude, and basic computer skills Basic troubleshooting and equipment operation skills Ability to read and follow SOPs, safety procedures, and batch records Attention to detail and quality awareness Good communication and time management skills Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in cold, hot, or fast-paced production and warehouse environments
