Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, serving as a primary and/or accountable nurse. Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilize knowledge of pharmacology and safely administer medications according to United Health Services policy. Share in responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policies. Actively participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and contribute to improvement initiatives. Engage in professional development and complete all mandatory education requirements. Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Six (6) months to three (3) years of nursing (RN) experience. Current NYS RN License. BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross). CC skills checklist required with two (2) or more years of critical care experience. Schedule
This position will require day shifts, including every other weekend, with guaranteed hours of 48 per week.
