Description
JOB SUMMARY
Complete responsibility for processing of payroll for Legacy Link staff and SCSEP Program Participants, and all related functions. Works closely with Employees, Managers, Supervisors, and the SCSEP Program Director and Program staff, Site Supervisors, and Trainees on all things related to Payroll.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
• Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Train and supervise the HR Assistant/Payroll Assistant in matters related to their payroll function.
• Produce/provide payroll-related reports as requested by Management.
• Maintain/update spreadsheets for the CPA.
• Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
• Performs other duties as assigned by HR Director.
• HSA Administration- Enter and manage Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions accurately.
• Year-End Processing- Experience with W-2 preparation, tax filings and annual reconciliation.
Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma
• 1-3 years of payroll experience
• Associate or bachelor's Degree (preferred) in business administration, finance, accounting, or Human Resources.
• Experience with Payroll Processing systems. (e.g. Paylocity, ADP, Workday). Paylocity is specifically strongly desired.
• Knowledge of benefits deductions, garnishments, and compliance reporting.
• Familiarity with federal and state tax regulations and wage laws.
Licensure:
Valid Georgia Driver's License
Required Skills:
1. Payroll Systems Expertise - Proficiency in platforms like Paylocity, ADP, Paycor, or similar. Preferably Paylocity
2. Tax and Compliance Knowledge - Understanding federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
3. Data Accuracy - Ability to calculate wages, deductions, and benefits precisely.
4. Knowledge of basic accounting principle for payroll entries.
5. Computer-related skills, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word.
6. Skill in preparing detailed reports.
7. Proficient computer skills with emphasis on accuracy.
8. Well-organized and detail oriented.
9. Clear communication with employees regarding payroll issues.
10. Ability to explain complex payroll concepts in simple terms.
11. Strong problem-solving skills and research skills.
12. Meeting strict payroll deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
13. Ability to troubleshoot payroll discrepancies.
