Job Summary:
The
Commodity Manager
will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing, procurement and management of materials and services for our product categories. The role involves strategic planning, supplier relationship management, cost optimization and risk mitigation to ensure the company receives the best value and quality for the commodities we purchase. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with company standards.

Onsite (Streetsboro, OH Headquarters)
Job Duties: Develop sourcing strategies for all commodities. Once a sourcing strategy has been developed, the Commodity Manager will communicate and manage business unit compliance with the strategy as well as development of supplier contracts, agreements, and or leases to support strategies. Working in close liaison with Engineering/Product Management on R&D and New Product Development projects to ensure alignment on new component parts Responsible for category component parts management within Oracle and project management trackers. Conducts spend analysis and relevant analytical tasks to support and justify sourcing direction. Reconciles and communicates supplier Cost Savings initiatives for the team. Ensures alignment with procurement team's annual target. Remain current on supply market trends, supplier economics, and best practice sourcing. Communicate and educate internal customers on the market trends. Utilize commodity knowledge, supplier's relative positioning, and market trends to negotiate the best cost for Step2; build that knowledge into the team's purchasing practices. Responsible for Global Supplier Management. On an ongoing basis, the Commodity Manager will monitor and evaluate supplier performance (quality, delivery, service levels) of all suppliers. Conduct regular strategic reviews with suppliers and team members to ensure continuous improvement of the supply base. Identifies, establishes, designs, and shares best practices with the Procurement team. Seeks out, builds, and maintains trusting collaborative relationships and alliances with others inside and outside of the organization to accomplish key business objectives. Acts as an escalation point for supplier performance &/or compliance issues. Develops supplier selection criteria tools and facilitates team members through a disciplined strategic sourcing process focused on maximizing total value. Identifies, pursues, and maximizes opportunities for realizing cost savings without sacrificing the quality, service and reliability expected of our suppliers; decisions based on Total Cost of Ownership. Partners with the Procurement team to establish company-wide procurement systems, tools, processes, policies, & procedures to support & lead to informed, fact-based sourcing decisions Catalyst for change to achieve our goals and addresses barriers to change. Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or associated field of study 5+ years of related work experience; plastics procurement a plus Strong written communication and presentation skills Dynamic collaborator who can succeed and grow in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Strong MS Excel skills Proven negotiation skills Experience with strategy creation and implementation for multiple types of commodities. Technical problem solving, including but not limited to ability to work through difficult challenges, including the full procurement cycle from sourcing, negotiations, legal requirements and internal systems updates. Ability to track and successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. Comfort with high degrees of ambiguity and changing environments. Oracle experience highly preferred Work Environment:
This position will perform most job duties in an office environment where using a computer, software applications, telephone, printer, etc. are essential.
