We are seeking experienced
Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs)
to join a high-acuity
Adult Operating Room
team. Candidates should have strong experience in trauma and specialty surgical cases, working in
Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers .
This role involves collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and other operating room professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. Key Responsibilities: Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, sterile supplies, and equipment. Scrub for surgical procedures in a variety of specialties including
trauma, orthopedic, general, ENT, vascular, and gynecologic
cases. Maintain sterile field and ensure adherence to surgical aseptic technique. Assist surgical teams with instrumentation, sponges, sutures, and other operative needs. Handle and care for surgical specimens according to hospital policy. Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to anticipate surgeon needs and ensure smooth procedural flow. Participate in preoperative and postoperative cleaning and equipment management. Qualifications: Certification:
Must hold current
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
certification. Experience:
Minimum of
3 years of recent operating room experience
(within the last 4 years) in an
acute care facility
of comparable size and level (Level 1 Trauma Center or teaching hospital preferred). Specialty Experience:
Must have scrub experience in
general surgery and multiple specialty areas
such as: Orthopedic Neurosurgery Trauma Vascular ENT Bariatric GU GYN
Licensing:
Must be eligible to work as a Surgical Technologist in New York State (no First Assist permitted). Communication:
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills required. Must successfully complete
pre-employment health clearance
and meet all occupational health and compliance standards. Must not have had any professional certification or license suspended, revoked, or under investigation. Additional Details: Work Schedule:
8-hour shifts totaling 80 hours per biweekly pay period. Environment:
High-acuity, fast-paced surgical setting requiring precision, adaptability, and teamwork. Supervision:
Expected to perform core surgical skills with minimal orientation and supervision.
