Our company is seeking a Dispatcher for 2nd shift (3pm-11pm). They will be responsible for supervising day-to-day operations and effective completion of all local dispatch tasks, such as assisting the maintaining of company vehicles.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Monitor, plan, route and respond to tasks posted on "Dispatch Board". Monitor, plan and respond to requests sent to "Messenger" email group. Supervise and dispatch local cartage drivers to complete tasks as efficiently as possible. Manage communications with Contract Cartage vendor. Forecast upcoming workload for staffing requirements. Maintain and review driver records, including cartage paperwork, time sheets, etc. Correspond effectively with all personnel to ensure accurate routing. Assist in training new personnel. Accurately communicate shift details/notes to other supervisors and manager. Conduct all routine shipping & receiving supervisory functions. Other duties as may be assigned. Requirements

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements

High School diploma required. Safety training as required by OSHA regulations. Three to five years of supervisory experience in dispatching or shipping/receiving required. Strong supervisory skills with ability to mentor and motivate team members. Comprehensive multi-tasking required with excellent detail and follow through. Above average English oral and written communication skills, bi-lingual Spanish a plus. Good technological aptitude; including RF scanners, typing and computer skills, MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel). Excellent working knowledge of local area roads, traffic, and routes. Preferred Knowledge

Experience in the operation of shipping/receiving/warehouses environments. Understand common shipping/receiving documents. Awareness and understanding of NMFC rules and regulations. Printing/Finishing/Mailing industry experience a plus! Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Full motion/motor skills in all body parts. Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.

Salary Description

$24-$28/ hour
