Project Engineer

to support the planning and execution of a major industrial facility project in Chicago, IL.

Position Overview As a

Project Engineer , you will play a key role in supporting project delivery from preconstruction through closeout. You will assist the Project Manager and field teams in coordinating technical activities, managing documentation, and ensuring the project meets all safety, schedule, and quality goals. This position is ideal for individuals with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a desire to grow within the industrial construction field.

Key Responsibilities Support the Project Manager in day-to-day project coordination, scheduling, and documentation Prepare and process submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project correspondence Review drawings and specifications to identify conflicts, constructability issues, and design clarifications Assist with procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services Track project progress and maintain accurate cost, schedule, and quality records Collaborate with Superintendents and field teams to ensure safe and efficient jobsite operations Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes, logs, and reports Support closeout activities, including punch list management and turnover documentation

Qualifications 2–5 years of experience in industrial, commercial, or heavy construction Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and means and methods Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Commitment to maintaining a culture of safety and quality
