Role Description

Hardware Farm Technician – Associate I - Semiconductor Product Validation.

You Are

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Hardware Farm Technician to support the setup, maintenance, and operation of our high-performance computing hardware farms. This role plays a critical part in enabling hardware validation, performance testing, and system reliability efforts by ensuring test systems are properly maintained, debugged, and available for engineering teams.

The Opportunity

  • Assemble, install, and configure test systems including GPUs, CPUs, motherboards, storage devices, and networking components.
  • Perform system-level hardware diagnostics, identify failures, and replace or repair faulty components.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and health checks on hardware farm systems.
  • Track and manage inventory of hardware components, spare parts, and consumables.
  • Support engineers by preparing test setups based on validation requirements.
  • Document hardware configurations and update records in inventory or tracking systems.
  • Monitor system performance and escalate issues to engineering or infrastructure teams as needed.
  • Assist with hardware bring‑up, firmware flashing, and basic software installation or configuration tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to lab safety and ESD protocols.

What You Need

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a lab, data center, or hardware validation environment.
  • Strong understanding of PC/server hardware, component installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with BIOS/UEFI settings, firmware updates, and basic OS setup (Linux or Windows).
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail, especially with inventory tracking.
  • Ability to work independently and support multiple teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Comfortable lifting and moving hardware systems (up to 20 kg as needed).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in semiconductor, hardware validation, or QA labs.
  • Knowledge of GPU/CPU bring‑up, thermal testing, or benchmarking tools.
  • Exposure to lab management systems or automated monitoring tools.
  • Basic scripting or command-line knowledge (e.g., Bash, Python) is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Role Location: California. Compensation Range: $48,000–$72,000. Full‑time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro‑rated for new hires), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. Employees may participate in the company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and additional Employee‑Only benefits such as basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short‑ and long‑term disability benefits.
