Responsibilities
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics, such as leaves and compensation, and resolve any issues that may arise
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
- Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
- Undertake tasks around performance management
- Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
- Organize quarterly and annual employee performance reviews
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations
- Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits, and organizing team building activities
Qualifications
- Commitment to unbiased and equitable hiring, with a focus on outreach to historically marginalized communities
- Additional HR training will be a plus
- Bachelor's/BA in Business administration or relevant field
- Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
- Aptitude in problem solving
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. PeopleSoft) will be a plus
- Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist
Job Highlights
- 6-12 month contract to hire
- 36 hours a week, working 4, 9 hour days/week, can select day off
Must Have
- Experience with leave management, employee relations, training and development, and HR policy creation and implementation
- Strong understanding of California labor laws, employment compliance and HR Best Practices
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- 5+ years of HR experience with at least 3 at the generalist level. Bachelor's degree preferred
Compensation
$38 - $40 /hour Pay Rate
