Non CDL Driver – Dock Height – $22.81/hr

Join Dohrn Transfer Company as a full‑time Non‑CDL Dock Height Driver. Pay is $22.81/hour to start and $26.71/hour after the first year. Hours are Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. start. This role involves driving a non‑CDL vehicle between customer locations, delivering and picking up freight at dock‑height terminals.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive a non‑CDL vehicle safely while transporting freight between terminals.
• Load and unload vehicles, either independently or with assistance from dockworkers; use mechanical freight handling equipment as available.
• Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight and secure freight with strapping or other methods.
• Inspect the vehicle for defects and ensure safe operating conditions, in compliance with company policy.
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum age 21.
• High‑school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and 3 years of driving experience.
• Class C endorsement if in Illinois or #2 endorsement if in Indiana.
• No record of DUI/OWI or reckless driving within 5 years.
• Maintain an acceptable motor‑vehicle record (MVR).
• Pass a DOT physical examination and functional screen.
• Pass a pre‑employment drug screen and submit a negative controlled‑substance test from the past 3 years.
• Consent to a 10‑year work‑history check and disclose any employment gaps of 30 days or more.
• Read & write in English and perform basic math.
• Excellent attendance.

Physical & Work Conditions

• Grip, lift, and carry items up to 100 lb; lift to 45‑in height.
• Front‑carry up to 100 lb for 250 ft.
• Push/pull up to 60 lb of horizontal force.
• Stand, sit, walk, climb, squat, kneel, crawl as required.
• Handle doors, steering, and jacks during loading/unloading.
• Operate vehicles in extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, fumes, etc.
• Speak and communicate safely with coworkers and customers.
• Use vision, hearing, and smell to monitor driving and equipment.
