Cone Health is seeking a Board-Certified Hematologist or Oncologist to provide locum tenens coverage in eastern North Carolina.
The physician will primarily serve in an ambulatory Hematology/Oncology clinic , seeing both new and follow-up patients while managing benign hematology and general oncology cases.
This 26-week assignment begins January 19, 2026 , with 3 clinic days per week (Tuesday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) and infrequent weekday or weekend call .
This position ranks in the Top 7% of Hematology/Oncology locum pay rates nationwide , offering $350K for the assignment.

Board Certification: Hematology and/or Oncology (dual preferred)
Licensure: Active NC license (required)
Certifications: BLS (required)

Experience: ? 2-3 years post-fellowship

Vaccines: Per facility policy (waivers accepted)
Provide outpatient Hematology/Oncology care (new consults + follow-ups).
Manage benign hematology and general oncology conditions.
Collaborate with pharmacy and infusion teams on treatment protocols.
Write orders, prescriptions, and treatment plans.
Participate in limited call coverage (weekday or weekend).
Complete accurate documentation in Epic EMR.
