The
Head of Global Project Development & Renewables Investment (Solar)
will lead the company’s global strategy for developing, financing, and investing in solar and renewable energy projects. This executive will oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle — from early-stage origination and permitting through construction, financing, and asset operation — while driving strategic partnerships, M&A, and capital deployment to achieve the company’s growth and sustainability targets.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring deep technical expertise in solar energy development, strong investment acumen, and a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary global teams across diverse markets.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
Define and implement the global strategy for solar and renewable project development and investment.
Identify and prioritize target markets, technologies, and investment opportunities aligned with company objectives.
Lead the integration of sustainability and ESG principles into all development and investment activities.
Project Development & Execution
Oversee the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects: site origination, feasibility studies, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and commissioning.
Ensure all projects meet commercial, technical, and regulatory standards across global markets.
Manage cross-functional teams, local developers, and third-party partners to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Investment & Finance
Lead investment strategy for greenfield development, M&A, and joint ventures in the solar and broader renewables sector.
Oversee project financial modeling, due diligence, and risk assessment.
Build and maintain relationships with investors, lenders, and strategic partners to secure financing and enhance portfolio value.
Business Development & Partnerships
Develop strategic alliances with governments, utilities, corporate offtakers, and technology providers.
Negotiate key commercial agreements, including PPAs, EPC contracts, and joint development agreements.
Drive innovation through collaboration with R&D and emerging technology partners.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead and mentor a global team of project developers, engineers, analysts, and investment professionals.
Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and safety-driven culture.
Represent the company at industry conferences, investor meetings, and regulatory engagements.
Qualifications & Experience
10–15+ years of experience in solar or renewable energy project development and investment.
Proven track record of delivering large-scale solar or hybrid renewable projects across multiple geographies.
Strong financial and investment acumen, including project finance, M&A, and JV structuring.
Deep understanding of global energy markets, renewable policy frameworks, and emerging technologies.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Willingness to travel internationally.
