Role Overview
The Team Lead – Project Development will guide the end-to-end development of large-scale solar PV and battery storage projects. This includes leading feasibility and permitting activities, managing stakeholder engagement, and directing a team of project developers to advance projects from early-stage concept through to financial close.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the advancement of solar and energy storage projects through feasibility, permitting, and commercial readiness.
Manage a team of 8+ Project Development professionals.
Design technically and economically optimised projects compliant with relevant standards and planning procedures.
Coordinate environmental assessments, grid connection studies, and technical design inputs.
Lead meetings with stakeholders, local authorities, and investors to secure project approvals.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members and promote professional growth.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts, ensuring timely reporting of progress and performance.
Secure all required authorisations and ensure regulatory and environmental compliance.
Support commercial negotiations and contribute to project financing and partnership discussions.
Represent the business at sector events and maintain a network of industry contacts.
Drive ongoing improvements to internal processes and development methodologies.
Qualifications
Degree in engineering, environmental science, renewable energy, or a related technical field.
Minimum of five years’ experience in renewable project development, ideally in large-scale solar or hybrid PV-storage projects.
Proven capability in team leadership, stakeholder management, and interdisciplinary coordination.
Strong understanding of project design principles, grid connection processes, and permitting frameworks.
Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and project management tools.
Familiarity with regulatory and planning frameworks relevant to renewable energy development.
Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
