What We Are Looking For

We’re seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with 2+ years of experience (criminal defense experience a plus) and proven ability to perform a wide range of attorney functions in a busy office with minimal supervision. We prepare all cases as if they are going to trial. Experience in developing discovery plans is required.

Successful candidates will have a proven track record advocating for clients in court (appearances, trial prep, trial), taking/defending depositions, attending mediations/arbitrations, writing briefs, responding and propounding discovery, reviewing and analyzing medical records, and excellent writing and communications skills. Preparing witnesses, clients and experts for depositions and trial is required. Trial experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct legal research, draft pleadings and discovery, and prepare trial materials.

Assist attorneys with hearings, depositions, trials, and client meetings.

Organize case files, manage deadlines, and ensure timely court filings.

Communicate professionally with clients, witnesses, experts, and court staff.

Support the legal team with various case‑related tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Active license/membership in the California State Bar in good standing.

2+ years of experience. Strong civil litigation experience is a plus.

Strong knowledge of California court rules and procedures.

Proficient in Microsoft 365 and legal case management software.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, self‑motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Professional, team-oriented, and able to work independently with discretion.

Accurate in tracking and managing billable time.
