As an Electrical Design Engineer specializing in MEP projects, you play a key role in delivering high-performance, code-compliant electrical systems for complex industrial, residential, datacenter, healthcare and commercial facilities. You will contribute to innovative designs that prioritize safety, energy efficiency, and reliability, working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment to support the company’s reputation for engineering excellence. Essential Functions

Design Independently perform intermediate to advanced electrical engineering tasks. Develop electrical distribution systems and topologies, equipment layouts, and specify/sizing of major electrical equipment. Produce drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD and Revit. Prepare or review specification sheets and book specifications for electrical systems. Develop and review sequences of operation. Contribute to proposals (scope, schedule, budget). Forecast and manage design team resources and schedules. Identify potential scope changes and help develop mitigation and cost-control strategies. Serve as a client contact and build long-term client relationships. Mentor or direct junior engineers and technical staff as needed. Pre-Construction Survey existing conditions and prepare technical findings reports. Gather site data to inform construction documents. Prepare design and construction documentation. Construction Support Coordinate with project managers and construction teams. Review shop drawings and submittals. Respond to RFIs and assist with punch lists and closeout deliverables. Reporting & Admin Prepare progress reports for stakeholders. Maintain logs for shop drawings and RFIs. Track personal time and project hours in company tools. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications

Requirements Strong knowledge of building electrical systems: single/three-phase power distribution, lighting and controls, grounding, and life-safety systems. Familiarity with applicable electrical codes and standards (e.g., National Electrical Code and relevant life-safety/energy codes). Proficient with short-circuit/coordination and arc-flash studies, equipment sizing, feeder calculations, and lighting calculations. Experience with various electrical topologies and distribution strategies. High proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for producing drawings and visualizations. Ability to perform code analyses and select compliant equipment/wiring. Detail oriented with strong documentation and technical writing skills. Comfortable leveraging AI and emerging tools to improve workflows and productivity. Strong communication skills; capable of representing the firm with clients. Ability to work effectively under deadline pressure and to lead/assign work to others. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years experience working for an engineering consultancy doing electrical design work on MEP projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license in a relevant discipline preferred but not required. Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience preferred. Benefits (Representative Summary)
