First-time travelers are accepted. Description: Unit notes background checks must be disclosed at the time of application. BLS and WV MRI License required prior to start. Common types of imaging/studies performed include neuro, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, breast, and breast biopsies. Training is available for performing biopsies if necessary. The department has one MRI room with two technologists and a tech aide. The tech aide assists with scheduling, screenings, order clarifications, and more. Staff does not float or cover any other areas. Average number of scans/studies performed per day is 65. The electronic medical record system used is Community Works, and the PACS is Intellirad/Intelliconnect. The department uses a Siemens Aera MRI machine. Radiology supervision is provided by the Imaging Director and Manager, who are available weekdays during daylight hours via telephone. Registered Radiology Assistants are not utilized. Radiologists are available on-site 24/7 until 5 PM, after which they are on call. Technologists must be able to start IVs as applicable to the department. Shifts and scheduling involve a 2-2-3 rotation with two teams, consisting of 12-hour shifts. There may be times when a technologist is the only one working in-house overnight. Weekend work is required every other weekend, and holiday rotations may also be necessary. A holiday call rotation is in place with expected response times. Dress code allows for any clean and professional color of scrubs. Permanent staff typically wear emerald green, but travelers are not required to match this color. Department-specific orientation lasts for five shifts with a preceptor. The charting system used is Cerner Corporation - Soarian. BSN is not required. A valid license is necessary for this position. The care setting is acute. The trauma level is unspecified.
