Solutions Architect - Java/Spring Boot, Cloud, Retail Industry Experience - On-Site in Houston, TX
Optomi, in partnership with one of the nation’s leading retail brands, is seeking a Solutions Architect to fulfill a direct-hire/permanent opportunity based in Houston, TX. This role focuses on shaping enterprise‑level architecture and driving Customer Data Platform (Treasure Data) and Theta Global initiatives. The ideal candidate is a technology‑driven architect with strong retail experience who can bridge strategy, design, and implementation across multiple business and IT domains.
Responsibilities
Design end-to-end architecture across applications, networks, and cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Lead integration strategy using tools like Kafka and cloud-native frameworks
Develop architectural models (conceptual, logical, physical, and deployment views)
Collaborate with enterprise architects and cross-functional teams to ensure scalability and compliance with EA standards
Drive modernization, automation, and reduction of technical debt
Partner with business leadership to align IT architecture with strategic goals

10+ years in IT or Solution Architecture roles
2–3 years in the retail industry (marketing, supply chain, or merchandising)
Experience with Treasure Data or other Customer Data Platforms
Strong background in data integration, cloud/hybrid design, and infrastructure security
Familiarity with TOGAF/Zachman frameworks and SOA/Microservices design
Excellent communication skills — able to “code-switch” across technical and non-technical audiences
Experience with enterprise retail systems and supply chain management solutions
Exposure to optimization modeling and holistic planning
Ability to bridge Agile and Waterfall delivery environments
