The Outgo engineering team builds robust, fault-tolerant systems for real-time decision making and money flow management. We craft intuitive, trustworthy applications and leverage a modern data stack (Snowflake, DBT, AWS, Pulumi, Postgres, Claude Sonnet). What You’ll Do
Demonstrate pride, ownership, and accountability for your work, and expect the same from teammates. Share opinions openly on what’s working and what’s not across the product, tech stack, and team processes. Work with cross-functional partners to solve business problems using data. Build, maintain, and own datasets that are accurate and simple. Seek feedback early and often in the development process. Identify speed vs quality tradeoffs and balance them judiciously. Believe diverse teams make better decisions and actively foster an environment where everyone can do their best work. The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring
5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, or in a similar role focused on building data infrastructure for analytics or product purposes. Track record of enabling product teams to make decisions using data. Strong proficiency in SQL, data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake), and data modeling concepts and tools (e.g., DBT). Proficiency in Python (or similar object-oriented language). Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data ingestion processes. Experience with monitoring and alerting for data pipelines. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. We’d be extra excited if
Experience with payments, accounting, or financial technology. Direct experience managing sensitive financial records. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and data services (e.g., S3, Lambda). Knowledge of stream processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka). Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Why DAT?
