Title : Senior Accountant Pay : $50-$55.00/hour Location : Hybrid from Minnetonka, MN or San Diego, CA Schedule : Standard Office Hours Duration : 5-Month Contract
Position Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing general ledger activities, including lease accounting, debt management, and intercompany transactions. This role involves preparing journal entries and reconciliations, overseeing reconciliation systems (Blackline), and supporting quarterly and year-end close processes. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with internal teams, external auditors, SOX consultants, and third-party service providers.
Key Responsibilities
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations for debt, leases, intercompany, and international accounts.
Review treasury and investment portfolios; prepare quarterly disclosure reports and related reconciliations.
Support property and sales tax reporting by preparing accurate data and supporting schedules.
Manage account reconciliations and journal entries, including system administration within Blackline.
Provide documentation and schedules for SEC reporting, annual audits, and tax filings.
Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
Collaborate cross-functionally to support accounting and reporting objectives.
Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
Minimum of 4 years of experience, preferably a mix of public accounting and biotech industry experience.
Strong understanding of
U.S. GAAP ; CPA certification is a plus.
SOX Experience.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office
(Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience with
Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
or similar accounting systems preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Effective communicator with cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
