Responsibilities
Support all types of power systems. Typically, will work with a Sr. Power Systems Engineer to support project scope.
Perform short circuit analysis, protective device coordination, and arc flash studies.
Assist other engineers with all types of power systems and engineering studies.
Assist in the gathering of field data and documentation as needed.
Support the full range of complex engineering studies including reliability, harmonics, load flow, and reliability-centered maintenance studies.
Assist with the electrical power system documentation including system configuration, equipment ratings, and settings.
May support circuit and system measurements and help write reports relating to EMF, electrical load, voltage, and power quality projects.
Assist in the preparation of estimates and take-offs for engineering study project proposals.
Gain a working knowledge of computer software and data utilized in the conduct of power systems and engineering studies and arrange training for others as needed.
Follow and assist in the development of policy and procedures for conducting power system and engineering studies.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate Engineer BSEE.
Must have taken and passed the FE exam or pass the FE exam within 12 months of hire date.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, field engineers, peers, and management.
Mature judgment and responsibility for assigned projects.
Strong organizational skills and a solid grounding in electrical engineering.
Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work.
Physical ability to perform typical office/field activities and related vision requirements.
Valid Driver’s License.
