As a Lead Back End Software Engineer on the CardTech Customer Resiliency (CR) team, you will play a vital role in enhancing our Collections technology, focusing on modernizing our data ecosystem and the Real Time Intelligent Collections (RTIC) application. Our CR Collections team specializes in supporting our Card customers during challenging financial situations, guiding them back to a healthy financial state with Capital One. Through RTIC, we are evolving to offer adaptable, configurable, and extendable solutions built on Capital One's enterprise platforms.
What You'll Do:
Work collaboratively with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support robust technical solutions across full-stack development tools and technologies.
Stay ahead of technology trends by experimenting with new tools and frameworks, participating in tech communities, and mentoring junior engineers.
Partner with digital product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that enhance the financial well-being of millions of Americans.
Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, and work with various databases and AWS services including Docker and Kubernetes.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.
At least 3 years of professional experience in software engineering (not including internships).
Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js.
1+ years of experience with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
3+ years of experience with open-source frameworks.
2+ years of experience using Agile methodologies.

Capital One is unable to sponsor a new applicant for work authorization for this position. The salary range for this role is $158,600 - $181,000 (McLean, VA) and $144,200 - $164,600 (Richmond, VA). This information refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of posting and will vary based on location and experience. This role is eligible for performance-based incentives, including potential cash bonuses and long-term incentives (LTI).
