Sam’s Club
Overview
Base pay range: $130,000.00/yr - $260,000.00/yr This range is provided by Sam's Club. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Position Summary: As a Director of Product Management, you will lead the development and launch of transformative, AI-powered solutions such as frictionless shopping experiences using robotics and computer vision. These platforms are core to operational intelligence and customer experience within high-profile physical retail environments. In this role, you’ll bring modern product thinking to large-scale retail systems, lead agile innovation across inventory visibility, and transform frontier technologies into measurable business outcomes. You will guide roadmap creation, product discovery, and cross-functional alignment with engineering, data science, operations, and club stakeholders. This is a career-defining opportunity to lead cutting-edge product innovation while coaching a high-impact team in a fast-paced, results-oriented culture.
Responsibilities
Launch High-Impact Technology Products – Take full ownership of complex product lines including inventory analytics, backroom operations, and AI-driven forecasting tools. Deliver scalable solutions that reduce friction and drive automation in physical environments. By Day 180: you will have launched multiple features, secured alignment across leadership, and shown measurable improvements in roadmap execution. Use AI to monitor inventory movement and surface real-time insights from disparate sources across the club network.
Master and Shape the Product Roadmap – Within the first 60 days, immerse in product performance, visit clubs, and conduct firsthand assessments. Lead roadmap prioritization and articulate delivery strategies tied to customer and business impact. Apply advanced analytics and AI-enhanced journey mapping to uncover pain points and optimization opportunities.
Drive Iterative Learning and Outcome-Focused Execution – Close the testing-to-iteration gap by embedding rapid experimentation and validation loops into the product lifecycle. Evangelize measurable impact and connect every feature to clear metrics. AI tools may assist in A/B testing, log analysis, and identifying performance bottlenecks.
Transform Emerging Tech into Scalable Value – Operationalize technologies like robotics, computer vision, and predictive modeling. Evaluate feasibility, pilot designs, and scale adoption across locations. Continuously challenge the team to convert innovation into incremental value and measurable business goals.
Influence Through Leadership and Stakeholder Trust – Mentor product team members and build relationships across technical, business, and field teams. Guide stakeholders using data-backed stories, proactive planning, and a consultative mindset. Lead with insight to earn trust as a trusted advisor and communicator.
Champion Responsible Use of AI in Product Management – Within your first 90–180 days, evaluate the use of generative AI, machine learning, and automation tools across roadmap planning, customer research, and prioritization decisions. Ensure AI improves decision quality while maintaining human oversight and business alignment.
