Overview
Head of Hematology Franchise, Pipeline Commercialization Strategy at AbbVie. This leadership position reports to the VP, PCS Oncology and is a key member of the PCS Oncology leadership team. The Head of Hematology Franchise will partner with cross-functional teams to develop strategies and tactics to accelerate leadership in hematological malignancies and expand into adjacent areas. Responsibilities
Develop, champion and communicate vision and overall compelling strategy to stakeholder groups to guide portfolio prioritization, asset strategies and BD investments within hematological malignancies. Understand market dynamics, value drivers, growth opportunities, target product profiles, product positioning and revenue potential for multiple Phase II+ assets/indications within the heme franchise to drive portfolio value propositions. Define and drive strategic value creation across lifecycle with R&D and commercial partners; integrate diverse internal and external perspectives. Partner with PCS VP to deliver optimal commercial strategies and an integrated portfolio approach within the franchise. Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Health Impact (MHI), Early & Late Clinical Development, and Commercial Cross-functional leaders to develop scientific platforms and drive data generation to satisfy global and area requirements for target product labels and claims; oversee development and delivery of Target Product Profiles (TPP) within the heme franchise. Oversee development of business cases for governance endorsement; identify new value generation opportunities and drive innovative approaches to accelerate commercialization and maximize patient and company value. Drive prioritization of key leverage points in the treatment process and define commercial strategy for assets and the entire franchise; manage risk, opportunities and issues at strategic and operational levels. Initiate geo-strategy and indication prioritization in partnership with R&D and cross-functional leaders to formulate optimal reimbursement and access strategies. Establish a strong external network with engagement of clinical experts. Exhibit clear leadership and implement optimal program structures to drive timely, effective decision making. Partner with Investor Relations and PCS VP to develop and manage external messages for analysts when requested. Manage partnerships and alliances to maximize value and ensure compliance with partnership agreements. As a people leader, coach and develop talent; set goals, succession plans, and performance management; act as a talent magnet for the PCS team. Broaden AbbVie’s Oncology network by building scientific, academic, KOL, payer, and patient advocacy relationships. Other duties as applicable to support the franchise and corporate objectives. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, Ph.D, or MD) preferred. 10-15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in progressive commercial leadership roles in marketing and/or sales. Recency of commercial in-line operational experience required; P&L ownership preferred in US or major markets. Successful launch experience preferred; managed care experience preferred. Oncology therapeutic experience required, with Multiple Myeloma experience preferred; global experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to influence and manage multiple internal and external stakeholders. Strong strategic marketing skills with a structured approach and solid scientific/clinical understanding. Strong financial and commercial acumen, with understanding of P&L drivers and ability to forecast investments and top-line sales to drive long-term value. Executive presence and leadership skills; able to present to senior leaders and model strong leadership behavior. Proven track record of leading organizational change and cross-functional collaboration in a matrixed organization; strong talent development and coaching skills. Excellent partnering abilities and experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to drive commercial decisions. Pay and Benefits
