Overview
Our client, a high-growth and strategically minded organization, is seeking an experienced and visionary
AP Systems & Automation Manager . This leadership role expands upon the former Programs & Analytics Manager function and is dedicated to maximizing efficiency, integrating technology, and driving data-driven decision-making within the Accounts Payable (AP) and disbursements function. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building out the strategic systems and analytics arm of the AP team. They must be a proven leader with expertise in
financial systems integration , AP optimization, and developing high-performing teams. Key Responsibilities
Technology & Process Transformation
System Ownership:
Act as the primary business owner and subject matter expert for core AP financial systems, specifically
Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
and the AP automation solution ( ExFlow ).
Automation Strategy:
Drive the strategy for continuous improvement and
automation
across all AP workflows, leveraging technology to increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen financial controls.
Roadmapping:
Collaborate closely with Finance IT and business stakeholders to define, prioritize, and execute the strategic roadmap for AP system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations.
Core Financial Program Oversight
Disbursements Management:
Oversee the integrity and security of the end-to-end disbursement process, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments while exploring options for payment method optimization.
T&E / Corporate Card Program:
Manage the comprehensive Travel & Expense (T&E) and Corporate Card programs, focusing on system administration, policy compliance, vendor relations, and enhancing the end-user experience.
Compliance & Controls:
Ensure that all AP processes and systems strictly adhere to internal controls, including
SOX compliance , data privacy standards, and company financial policies.
Analytics & Performance Leadership
KPIs & Reporting:
Define, meticulously track, and report on key performance indicators ( KPIs ) across the AP function (e.g., invoice cycle time, automation rate, touchless processing percentage).
Strategic Analysis:
Utilize advanced analytical techniques to uncover operational trends, identify bottlenecks, and develop actionable strategies to improve overall financial performance.
Stakeholder Reporting:
Prepare and present concise performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior finance and executive leadership.
People Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately
eight dedicated professionals , which includes three
Supervisors
and various Specialist/Coordinator level roles.
Coaching:
Provide effective performance management, coaching, and career development support to build a highly engaged, technically skilled, and systems-focused team.
Resource Planning:
Strategically manage team capacity, delegate tasks, and ensure optimal resource allocation to consistently meet departmental goals.
Qualifications We Seek
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
5+ years
of progressive experience in Accounts Payable, Finance Operations, or Financial Systems.
2+ years
of direct management experience, including success in managing supervisors or team leads.
Deep technical expertise
and hands-on experience with major ERP systems (specifically
Microsoft Dynamics 365/D365 ) and AP automation platforms ( ExFlow
experience is highly preferred).
Proven track record of leading and successfully delivering
automation and large-scale process improvement
initiatives.
Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business results.
