Overview
The Director, Supply Chain Contracting holds a pivotal leadership role within the organization, providing comprehensive focus and strategic direction to drive negotiation of supply chain contracts. In this position, you will provide expert guidance in shaping end-to-end contract management development experiences at a directorial level, supporting Ally's Auto Finance and Insurance organizations. You will play a key role in the prioritization of contract management initiatives to deliver exceptional outcomes that align with the organization's strategic objectives and enhance your team’s understanding of legal terms and conditions through training and development. Collaborate with Executives and other leaders within Ally and the Enterprise to align business priorities and establish strategic business objectives. Develop a strong working relationship with various customers, suppliers, and internal departments, and obtains a thorough functional knowledge of the organization, performance measures, and information flows to help optimize contracting solutions. Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks. Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your employees feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them. Communicate effectively with stakeholders within a cross-functional organization to explain contract terms and answer questions about specific contract provisions. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, ethical sourcing practices, and corporate policies during the procurement process. Identify and mitigate potential risks related to services contracting. Maintain deep understanding of our largest contracts, their terms and conditions, and key deliverables contained in the contract. Work closely with legal and other risk departments to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as company policies and established precedents; ensure contract provisions can be delivered while maximizing the value to Ally. Develop your team’s contract knowledge and understanding of legal terms and conditions. Support and champion initiatives to improve processes and templates for Ally Supply Chain contracts. Lead Supply Chain Contracting projects to establish governance frameworks, and develop contracting standards to ensure compliance, efficiency, and strategic alignment. Oversee the management and execution of contract agreements for given scope of services for Ally Supply Chain. Negotiate favorable terms and contracts to secure the best value and reliability for the company. Skills and Qualifications
Juris Doctorate required. 7+ years’ experience in contract negotiations required. Experience managing and negotiating contracts in a regulated industry preferred; Financial Services experience preferred. Comfort with risk profiles of a broad range of commodities, including services, marketing, credit bureaus, and technology. 2+ years of people management experience. Knowledge and understanding of various outsourced vendor agreements, including services, software, and credit bureau agreements preferred. Experience negotiating complex agreements with global suppliers. Knowledge of supply base and sourcing business practices specific to financial services preferred. Ability to articulate legal risk to business customers and team associates. Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience. Strong collaboration and partnering skills. Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment. Ability to prioritize projects and coordinate multiple tasks within time constraints. Proven ability to partner with key senior leaders to drive change and accountability across an organization. High degree of initiative and strong ability to meet key responsibilities with limited direction and oversight. Contract lifecycle management tool experience preferred. Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range: $125,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr. Ally’s Total Rewards program includes market-competitive base pay and pay-for-performance incentives (bonuses) based on achieving personal and company goals, plus additional benefits as described below.
