Job Summary The Software Engineer IV works within the Application Development & Support team to design, develop, and support complex software solutions. This engineer receives general instructions on new projects and works autonomously to complete deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Develop software at all layers by programming, designing, and testing code to meet requirements.

Understand functional requirements for new software requests.

Work with Business Systems Analysts to clarify requirements and translate them into working software.

Apply good software engineering techniques and standards to reduce coding errors.

Partner with software teams on development of software engineering processes.

Identify and resolve technical or product problems.

Participate in software project meetings and provide status reports.

Translate technical designs into working software.

Maintain existing applications by enhancing software and troubleshooting issues.

Collaborate with team members and partners as needed.

Participate in code reviews and incorporate recommendations.

Apply Object Oriented Design principles and design patterns.

Create and maintain software design specification documents.

Assume full responsibility for assigned tasks and end‑to‑end accountability.

Recommend new technologies and streamline processes.

Communicate designs to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Adopt new techniques and technologies.

Attend job‑related training to keep skills current.

Assist with mentoring and training of less experienced staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities.

Client Responsibilities This is an internal and external client–facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills. Must manage difficult client situations, respond promptly to client needs, solicit feedback, and meet commitments.

Qualifications BS/BA and 8+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 4 years’ SME in respective areas.

Computer Skills

Strong knowledge of Java, Python, SQL/PL SQL.

Proficient in Oracle RDBMS and MongoDB.

Experienced in Angular and React.js for UI front‑end.

Skilled across UNIX and Windows environments.

Expertise in Object‑Oriented Analysis and Design.

Proficient in Django, Flask, and FastAPI.

Experience with JPA, Hibernate, Spring Boot, and XML.

Well‑versed in Agile methodologies, requirements gathering, and flow diagrams.

Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations None required.

Prioritize multiple projects to ensure timely delivery.

Excellent written and verbal communication, translating technical concepts.

Work Environment Work typically occurs in a business office with computers, printers, light traffic. Noise level is moderate.

Work Location This position must work on‑site at the San Diego Headquarters. Remote work is not an option.

Working Hours Requires working beyond traditional hours, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed. Core business hours are Monday‑Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm.

Travel No travel required; occasional local conference attendance may be necessary.
