Overview
Digital Engineer - Process Performance Optimization Lead. This Position reports to: Digital Execution Lead. In this role, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to develop, implement, and facilitate onboarding of digital solutions and the adoption of digital platforms into the customer environment, along with ongoing operations and maintenance. You will provide consultative assistance to support product use with the goal of improving productivity and efficiency, and help customers achieve solution goals by leveraging domain knowledge of ABB's digital solutions. The work model for the role is: Hybrid (Must be in Houston, TX or Cleveland, OH). This role contributes to the Process Automation Energy Industries, Digital Solutions in the US. Main stakeholders are Internal teams (Operations, Sales, Service), Customers, and Regional Leadership. Responsibilities
Provide consultative assistance in supporting the use of products with the goal of improving productivity and efficiency. Implement Advanced Process Control (APC) and process optimization solutions to improve production efficiency. Test, troubleshoot, and ensure successful rollout of the system by training customers to understand the software and its benefits, followed by ongoing support and services. Lead technical reviews (design, modeling, commissioning) and execute performance assessments to ensure the effectiveness of real-time optimization systems. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) preferred. 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, energy, power and water, and oil and gas industries. Expertise in process control to develop and implement advanced control strategies for optimizing processes. Strong background with distributed control systems, process instrumentation and supervisory control applications. Proven strategic planning, problem-solving, and operational efficiency skills, with expertise in process optimization, asset management, and regulatory compliance. Established leadership skills to effectively manage technical discussion and guide technical teams. Willingness to travel 50%.
