A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: Radiation Therapist Job Details: • Must be licensed as Radiation Therapist in NY (can obtain during onboarding) • Must have ARRT certification • Local candidates from ineligible counties are not being accepted (effective 1/11/2024) • Administer ionizing radiation and radioactive substances to patients under supervision of a Radiation Oncologist • Operate high voltage machinery safely and accurately • Accurately enter and maintain patient treatment parameters into electronic medical records • Interpret computerized treatment plans accurately • Observe patients daily for reactions and report adverse reactions immediately to Radiation Oncology Nurse or Radiation Oncologist • Facilitate complex problem solving regarding technical issues • Maintain professional conduct essential to patient well-being • Adhere to NYSDOH, ARRT, and ACRO radiation safety protocols • Work with Varian Truebeam and Varian 21ix equipment • Must have satisfactory completion of training program in Radiation Therapy Technology from AMA approved school • Must meet ARRT registry requirements Facility: This major medical center provides comprehensive radiation oncology services with state-of-the-art equipment and technology.
