Level 3 or 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Short Term Acute Care Hospital
Shifts:
3x12-hour rotating shifts (Days: 07:00-19:00, Nights: 19:00-07:00)

Floating:
May float to sister facilities and other hospital units as needed

NICU Charge RN Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon or eligibility to obtain prior to start
Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a NICU Charge RN in a Level 3 or 4 NICU
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications
Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system
Experience with neonatal delivery, resuscitation, and high-risk deliveries
Reliable vehicle required for potential floating to nearby healthcare facilities
Ability to work variable and rotating weekends and shifts
Willingness to float to other units and facilities as needed
Two supervisory references covering one year within the last three years
NICU Charge Nurse Responsibilities
Lead as Charge RN in a Level 3 or 4 NICU, managing staffing, patient assignments, and daily unit operations
Attend and lead high-risk deliveries, providing expert neonatal resuscitation and critical care
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neonates and infants, including premature (>28 weeks gestation) and term infants requiring specialized medical attention
Utilize advanced NICU nursing skills such as ventilator management, central line care, APGAR scoring, and management of respiratory distress syndrome
Support patient and family education, developmental care, and discharge planning
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and social workers
Float to maternity and mother-baby units as needed to provide clinical support
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
