Join Capital One as a Senior Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis for our Card Partnerships division. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team focused on aggressively expanding our business in the partner credit card segment. We aim to grow not only through organic development in existing programs but also through strategic acquisitions of new card partners.
As the lead for a team of financial analysts, you will support the financial health of individual Partnerships portfolios. This role provides significant exposure to both internal business leaders and external client teams, enabling you to drive financial insights tailored to our partners.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing monthly financial results, managing actuals and outlook presentations for leadership, and guiding quarterly or annual strategic exercises related to Partnerships. You will play a vital role in our external partner payment processes, ensuring accurate reviews and approvals of monthly compensations.
Key Responsibilities:
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Card Partnerships P&L to generate valuable insights and analysis on financial performance.
Analyze and explain monthly variances, propose actionable recommendations, and manage regular reporting for multiple Partnership segments.
Deliver ongoing analytical insights into overall financial outcomes.
Create and present senior management presentations effectively.
Collaborate with internal and external leaders to provide a strategic finance perspective on business initiatives.
Develop expertise in specific partnership agreements to oversee the monthly partner compensation process.
Establish sustainable processes while continuously challenging the status quo.
Manage, prioritize, and delegate tasks independently.
Lead and mentor a team of 2-3 analysts, focusing on talent development and retention.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong financial leadership as we evaluate partnership deals. You will need exceptional problem-solving, strategic thinking, and influencing skills to:
Effectively communicate analysis outcomes and insights.
Critically assess options and deliver sound recommendations.
Adapt to both open-ended and tight timelines.
Work alongside leadership and business teams to evaluate the financial implications of growth efforts.
Develop presentations for senior leadership audiences that clearly communicate business results and analyses.
Demonstrate comfort in ambiguous situations and effectively drive initiatives through others.
General Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough financial analysis & reporting, understanding the impact of decisions and contract structures on financial statements.
Assist in developing executive presentations to convey analytical results to senior stakeholders.
Manage ad-hoc requests and special projects as needed.
Coordinate with Capital One's corporate Global Finance teams for deal valuations and decisions.
Perform ad-hoc analysis on industry-related topics and strategic options.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent military experience.
Minimum of 4 years' experience in financial analysis.
At least 4 years in financial modeling.
One year of direct experience managing a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function.
One year of people management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance.
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
5+ years in financial planning and analysis.
2+ years managing both direct and indirect reports.

The salary ranges for this role are listed, based on location:
Chicago, IL: $132,800 - $151,600
McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700
Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600
Annual salaries vary by location and will be reflected in the offer letter sent to candidates. The position is also eligible for performance-based incentives.
