Overview As a
Project Engineer
at
LJA Transportation , you will be responsible for design calculations, preparing plans, and developing schematic designs for GDOT, local government, and regional infrastructure projects while collaborating with team members, clients, and consultants. You’ll apply advanced engineering principles and exercise independent judgment, in a supportive, team-oriented culture.
Responsibilities
Perform design calculations, prepare plans, and direct schematic designs for GDOT, local government, and other projects around the region.
Use advanced techniques, theory, precepts, and practices.
Interact with task leaders, team members, clients, and other consultants.
Exercise judgment in independently evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Mentor direct reports and convey knowledge to others.
Participate in team lunches/breakfasts and social activities.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer (Georgia preferred as starting point)
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience with MicroStation, inRoads (or OpenRoads) and GDOT procedures
Effective communication skills to engage with fellow employee-owners
Ideally, You Should Also Have
Experience with Bentley ORD
Experience with Large-Scale GDOT Projects or Programs
Experience and relationships with various GA cities and other agencies
Advanced skills in specialized software programs
Technical training experience
